Greetings To all Jawaese Jawa's! A good day to all the readers of the JAWA post, i welcome you to the new edition of the JAWA post, i'll update you with all the things that have been going on in JAWA recently. I'll take you through an informative and hopefully fun ride. Lets go shall we ? The JAWA forum has received a twist last month, instead of going through sites and seeking your information, you can get your most important information directly from the upper tabs. It is also possible to navigate using these tabs on the wiki, to make things alot better and easier. Also Silink made a new Logo for the forum, which looks pretty awesome! Further the JAWA toolbar also received a big update, it's easier to navigate and looks more simplyfied. You can download the JAWA toolbar here : http://thejawaclan.toolbar.fm/. In further notice, JAWA has a map rotation that adds and removes maps monthly, currently we have Taris RP as our monthly map, you can download it at the download section on our wiki page. Further news, since awhile ago. the event planners have their own forum section, just like the admin, and ambassador section. In this section, event planners can discuss upcoming events with each other. And post their idea's, give feedback to each other. And organize much easier this way. Awards! and more awards! Congratulations to Shadow for receiving the Contribution award, hard work put in the server tracker which you can see the current server status of JAWA and all of its allies. Shadow has been recognized and received a well earned Medal for his big contribution. You can see the tracker here: http://www.thejawaclan.com/AlliedServerTrackers.php Furthermore, two more persons received a medal, this time for helping out on the JAWA school, for the persons who don't know what JAWA school is. Jawa school is a weekly based training event that takes place on Fridays. Congratulations Aemi and TC well earned! Recruiting! With allowence from the JAWA council, a few certain (new) clans may recruit on our server, the clans are TFE, DD and EST. I hope these clans may find the members they seek, and that they may one day be as succesfull as many other clans out there. Recently, JAWA held its ninth (JAWA) Open league, this open league is a big event with all the allies including jawa. First i would thank all the allies for coming, and thank them for the good atmosphere and the great and fun games. I hope in the near future that we may all come together again and enjoy the tenth open JAWA league. The Red Nosed Wookie. Always sticking it in other people’s business…
Salutations to all short-legged sand people. It is I, the red nosed wookie, grabbing your mammary glandules even if you would rather I not. June is here and so is the middle of the year and with it comes the famous Jawa League Open Tournament. I was blessed with my second participation but this time I was there as a reporter as well as a fighter. As always the tournament was a huge success. Only three absences were quickly filled while the other clans already played and talked around the map. No one was rude or cocky, no one made even a single snide remark. I was very well impressed to see that the group of clans we have gathered as allies are a very relaxed and awesome bunch who value play and sportsmanship as much as we do. This time the open league had one more clan on its roster: The Elite Jedi Academy who brought awesome fighters to the game and fought like real lions. For the Jawas we had SiLink, Helena Revan, our very skilled initiate Crysophylax, myself and the butt-kicking (over 9000) Diamond. Council clan brought their two-times champion Drak and AoF had some new faces as well as the recognized fighter, Qeran. KR and CoF also brought an assortment of killing machines, all ready and willing for our little organized slaughter. The 1st round was already a slugfest with quick matches and early removals. One of the toughest matches was Helena Revan's battle against KR echo. They danced with medium-style for many minutes with the lady's victory seeming in grasp but echo took advantage of a quick parry to end it. After the 1st round some heavy competitors were taken out of the picture with Crysophylax defeating the legendary Council Drako after an incredible red to red match and a real fluke happening with my victory over the largely superior Council Socke. The tournament was already appearing to be an unusual one. Link defeated Council Heimdall and proceeded and Diamond had a toe to toe match with AoF Qeran but sadly fell...as did half of the participants. The second round went more according to the usual script. Council Redeemer won his match with a good advantage, I lost to AoF Matoro's incredible defensive style, KR echo defeated yet another fighter with yellow parry (brilliantly executed) and Link got past AoF LeonHart with his deadly flying red hits. The real juice in this round was in a nearly ten minute fight between Crysophylax and AoF Ocelot that ended with an aerial clash that left Crys with a miraculous 1hp and his opponent vanquished. It is also funny to remember that the only clan cannibalism match occurred ironically between CoF Azazel and Hannibal (woot). Now down to one fourth of the participants, the tourney was reaching a high point. EJA met their final challenge as Trinity was defeated by CoF Azazel and Link avenged my untimely death with an incredible match against Matoro. Council Redeemer once again went through without difficulty showing he was becoming the real favorite and Crysophylax met his end at KR echo's incredible yellow skills. So it came to the final four. One representative of each clan except the EJA's who had a tremendous run for a day view in the tourney. Link was matched against CoF Azazel and as Jawa's last chance at the title (Trailer voice: One man...One shot...One ponytail). Unfortunately, after a quick yellow flurry, our leader found himself nearly mortally wounded and, although he took his opponents shield down, could not finish the job and fell in battle (*writer cries a little). Redeemer took echo on and, impressively, took a quick advantage using staff against echo's yellow. It came down to the final match, Azazel versus Redeemer, single vs staff, hombre a hombre. Full of tension, the match was brutal, but not very long. Azazel hit Redeemer straight on but the Council did not dodge as one would expect but instead took the hit and flurried his opponent to near death. After a few more swings, Redeemer came out the winner with a nearly flawless participation and many merits. We had our usual heavens where naturally the Jawas did well as we are used to such events and slowly but surely the server started to empty and our friends left. To sit there and watch quality fights like the ones I saw make me believe we have one of the best and last good tournaments going on in JKA and makes me proud for us and our allies. Geek's databese. The Link.. or adress... or url?. Hey all! Geek here again with our forum updates! As you may have seen, we have had a few changes to our website, so who better to ask about it then our (insane) Leader, Link! Just doing a quick interview for da Post, forum news and all that SiLink: Ah okay Geek : Shouldnt take too long, only 4 questions What drove you to revamp the forum's logo and navigation bar design? SiLink :Well I'm a big fan of change, if I see something that's been around for a long time I feel the need to try my best to spice it up and improve it as much as I an capable of. The logo was rather easy since I've been making stuff like that for almost 10 years now on and off. The nav bar was a lot more difficult though and I must thank Razor for all his assistance with helping me with some bugs. Geek : Sounds fun, by the way, for our programming and web-design inclined readers, what sort of programming languages were used for these? SiLink: For the nav bar it's a mixture of HTML, CSS and jquery. With HTML5's innovative new way of doing things I expect to change the nav bar in a year or two to be even better. Geek : Nice , I wish my college taught that :S . SiLink : Same lol Geek :Will the toolbar be changed to match the nav bar? SiLink : The toolbar is being phased out every year it seems with the ease of access to the forum/wiki/server info. I'll continue to keep it running as I'm pretty addicted to it to be honest, it gets me around the forums even quicker than the current fast methods lol. Geek : Agreed . One final question, when can we expect the updates (wiki and forum) to be considered 100% done and not need to be considered for tweaking for a while? SiLink : Ah, well the updates I planned are done. Falcon is working on creating a new WikiJawa theme which will add the forums header and other neat little things. WATCH THIS SPACE. Or... don't because he might not be able to do it and you'll be disappointed.... and wait a minute isn't it my job to be the interviewer for the (JAWA) Post!??! Oh well one less thing for me to do ! Geek :Maybe D:, but Zu might come knocking at your door about it.. wait, scratch that, Ninja's don't knock. SiLink :He wouldn't need to anyway, you bursted my door open remember Geek : True D: But I think that should do it! Thanks for keeping us looking fresh and new.
